.:: The 6 pillars of faith in Islam::. |
|
|
1. Belief in God:
Muslims believe in the one, single, incomparable God, who has no son or partner and that nobody should be adored, except him alone. He is the True God and every other deity is false. He charge the most beautiful names and the perfect properties. Nobody shares his divinity or his properties.
In the Quran God describes himself:
"Say: He is Allah, the One! Allah, the eternally Besought of all! He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him." (Surah 112, Verse 1-4)
Nobody has the right to be asked for help, to be venerated, worshiped or that some kind of worship is performed to him except to God alone.
God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the sole ruler and sustainer of every thing. He regulates all affairs. He does not need any of His creatures, but all are His creatures are in everything they need depended on him. He is the Hearer, the Seer and Knower. In perfect way his knowledge includes all things, the obvious and hidden, the public and the private. He knows what happened, what will happen and how it will happen. Nothing in the whole world happens except by his will. Whatever he wants will be and whatever he does not want, is not and never will be. His will is above that of any of his creatures. He has power over all things and he is able to do everything. He is the Generous, the Merciful and benevolent.
In a statement his prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) tells us that God is more merciful to His creatures than a mother to her child. God is far away from injustice and cruelty. He is the All-way in all his actions and decisions.
If someone wants something from God, can he or she ask God directly without asking anyone else to be in-between God and him or her to negotiate.
|
God is not Jesus and Jesus is not God. Even Jesus himself rejected this. |
God says in the Quran:
"They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden Paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evildoers there will be no helpers. "(Surah 5, Verse 72)
God is not one of the three.
God says in the Quran:
They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve. Will they not rather turn unto Allah and seek forgiveness of Him? For Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food. See how we make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away!" (Surah 5, verse 73-75)
Islam rejects that God rested on the seventh day of creation, that he fought against one of his angels, that he was a blacksmith jealous scheming against the people or that he was born again in any man.
The Arabic word Allah means God (the One and Only True God, who has created the entire universe ). This word Allah is a name for God which the Arabic-speaking use, both Arab Muslims and Arab Christians. The word can not be used otherwise than for the One True God. The Arabic word Allah appears in the Quran about 2150 times. On Aramaic, a language similar to Arabic and the language that Jesus habitually spoke, God is referred to Allah too.
2. The belief in angels:
Muslims believe in the existence of angels and that they are honorable creatures. The angels serve God alone, obey him and act only on his command. One of the angels is Gabriel, who has brought down to Muhammad (peace be upon him) the last revelation, the Quran.
3. The belief in Godīs sent down books:
Muslims believe that God revealed his messengers books as evidence and guidance for humanity. One of these books is the Quran, which God has revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) . God insured the protection of the Quran from any distortion or twisting.
God says:
"Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are it ' s Guardian." (Surah 15, verse 9)
4. Belief in the Prophets and Messengers of God:
Muslims believe in the prophets and messengers of God, beginning with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them). But God's final message to the people, a renewal of the eternal message, was the Prophet Muhammad. Muslims believe that Muhammad (peace be upon him), the last prophet was sent by God, as God says:
|
|
Muslims believe that all prophets and Messengers are human beings with no divine properties.
5. Belief in the Day of Judgement:
Muslims believe in the Day of Recompense (Day of the re-awakening), when all the people by God are raised again and among them will be judged according to their faith and their actions .
6. The belief in the Al-Qadar:
Muslims believe in Al-Qadar, the divine predestination.
But this divine predestination does not mean that man had no free will. Obviously man has a will with which he is able to select between right or wrong and he will be responsible for his each of his choices.
The belief in divine predestination includes four things:
1) God knows everything. He knows what happened and what will happen.
2) God has written down everything that has happened and what will happen.
3) Everything that God wants to be done, will be done and everything, which God does not to be done will not be done.
4) God is the Creator of all things.
